  • SGLBA Bondi to Watson's Bay Walk & Lunch

    Join the SGLBA walking group from Bondi Beach to Watsons Bay! Departing from the Bondi Pavilion at 10.30am, join us from 10am grab a coffee and meet everyone else that will be heading off on the 4.6km walk that takes in the stunning coastline in the very east of Sydney.

    With great views of the ocean and the city passing through Ben Buckler, we will walk pass Vaucluse cemetery where Australia’s first Prime Minister Edmond Barton is buried, the 200 year old Macquarie Lighthouse, and The Gap. Walking through Robertson Park, we'll arrive at Watsons Bay Hotel for lunch around 1pm after which people can catch the ferry to the city or home.

    Everyone's welcome. It’s a great new way to meet people, make connections and network while you see the sights and get out and about in Sydney. Bondi Pavilion, Queen Elizabeth Dr, Bondi Beach.

  • Outstanding LGBTQIA+ Short Stories

    Australia's premier LGBTQIA+ creative writing competition

    The annual OutStanding Short Story competition provides a safe and supportive environment for both emerging and established writers to share their stories. Other than a set length of 750 words and a different theme each year there are no restrictions; entries might express the triumph and joy of alternate sexuality, or the pain and difficulty. They might be funny or sad, sweet or bitter, outrageous or introspective.

    Australia has, of course, a rich tradition of LGBTQIA+ literature. Local poets and authors have been expressing our peculiarly antipodean experience for decades, perhaps even centuries. Online Sunday 16th June

  • Sydney Frontrunners Pride 5K Walk and Run

    Sydney Frontrunners provides encouragement, support and community to LGBTQI+ people and friends, who are interested in running and walking.

    Everyone is welcome to join us for our annual pride event. There will be prizes for the fastest and most fabulous finishers. This is not an official timed run.

    This year we are supporting PrideAbility. This Amazing social club is for people with intellectual disability who identify as LGBTQI+.

  • Wonder Mama Tours

    Join Sydney’s veteran Drag Queen, Wonder Mama (AKA Wilma!) on a fun 2-hour experience in the heart of LGBT Sydney! Visit a series of fabulous LGBT entertainment venues, shops and landmarks in Sydney’s Rainbow precinct as Wonder Mama shares her experiences and insights into the district and its happenings.

    Get ready to have a fabulous and relaxed time as you visit iconic venues and learn about the colourful characters that have become legends in the Sydney Scene – activists, entrepreneurs and even more fabulous drag queens. You’ll be treated to some discounts too, as well as a dessert stop along the way!

    Wonder Mama will give you a rundown of the world-famous Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade an we end the tour near Taylor Square at the delightful Sydney Rainbow Crossing where we can stay to take photos!

    Tours operate most Tuesdays and Saturdays during Pride Month.

Garrett Prestage, Gail Hewison and Graeme Head will read their contributions from the book and share stories of the tumultuous events of those months in 1978.
